• Cargo platforms (except those formed by cargo itself) shall be made of sound material, substantially and firmly constructed, adequately supported and maintained in good repair.
• Cargo platforms shall-
• be of sufficient size to receive cargo and to ensure the safety of dock workers working on them;
• if of a height exceeding 1.5 metres, in addition to the requirements of (a) above, be protected on any side, which is not being used for receiving or delivering cargo, by substantial fencing to a height of one metre; and
• be provided with safe means of access, such as ladders or starts.
• Cargo platforms shall not be overloaded.
• Portable trestles shall be so placed as to be steady.
